A EU Framework 6 project securing valued at €26M, with 26 partners across 10 countries called Healthy Aims is nearing completion after four years.
The project has recently produced a video showing the scope and technical excellence of what has been achieved. These partners have developed a range of medical systems and implants to help the aging population and those with disabilities.
The project is funded under the IST Microsystem programme and combines experts from a wide range of disciplines. ETB are the Coordinator for the project, but they also have responsibility for the design of the activity monitor and are also technical design for the low cost disposable electronic catheter system. ETB have launched the Pegasus-G, 3-axis accelerometer data logger. This is a unique sensor module is a small, light, self-contained and battery-powered 3-axis accelerometer which logs acceleration along three orthogonal axes. CESMAS 2008 Utrecht, The Netherlands. A paper will be given by Dr. Jeremy Naylor and Debbie Holmes on the 12th July. Validity of a novel accelerometer-GPS and stride characteristics of galloping Thoroughbreds: do they differ between constant and incremental speed exercise tests? The ETB Pegasus stride characteristic system was used in these trials.

ETB have upgraded their Pegasus Stride Characteristic System to be completely stand alone. The analysis is now done on the supplied laptop, making it easier to look at results whilst you are doing trials and tests. All existing customers will get this major upgrade free of charge. ETB will be exhibiting and presenting at the 6th International Conference on Equine Locomotion, Cabourg France, 16th- 19th June 2008. Work carried out by Kathryn Nankervis at Hartpury College will be presented by ETB’s Diana Hodgins. The topic, Comparison of stride frequency measured using a leg mounted accelerometer and opto-electronic system. The ETB Pegasus-G sensor unit was used for these trials.
