Fall Detection in Elderly
Stride frequency increases in elderly patients giving a higher risk of falling.[5]  The ETB system can be used to monitor the stride frequency of elderly people to ascertain which are more at risk of falling.  Gait training exercises could be provided and the effect on their stride frequency measured accurately.  Elderly people with a higher stride frequency and shorter stride length are more at risk of falling.

This system can easily be modified to be used by mobile phones to inform carers or concerned relatives of incidents.
